Visit the Hyde Museum (161 Warren St., Glens Falls). The Hyde family collected Old Masters’ paintings, drawings, and sculpture by such artists as Botticelli, Raphael, Rembrandt, Rubens, and El Greco.

In Newcomb (Rte. 28N), visit the Adirondack Park Visitor Interpretive Center. The 3.6 mile trail system covers a forested peninsula on Rich Lake with distinctive wetlands, old growth forest types, lake vistas, and scenic overlooks. Enjoy a picnic at tables near the Visitors Interpretative Center. Open year-round from dawn until dusk

On the first Fri.-Sun. in December the self-guided Christmas in the Country Open House Tour, from West Fort Ann to Kingsbury, includes among its stops an herb farm, a 100 year old farm, and some 10 studio/shop stops.
In the Champlain Canal region historical trails, battlefields, bike trails, museums, and many small businesses dot the landscape between (Rte. 4) Waterford (Lock 1) and Whitehall (Lock 12).

On August 8 and 9 (10-4) enjoy Focal Points - an Arts and Agriculture Self-Guided Tour of 18 to 20 participant sites in and around Salem with special late afternoon events.

Visit some twelve venues or so during The Third Thursday Art Walk in historic downtown Glens Falls, from April through October.

The Sacandaga Valley Arts Network, in its eleventh year, hosts weekly summer concerts, art classes and workshops, a film series, the Meet the Artist series, and other programs.

The Adirondack Museum (Adirondack Trail and Central Adirondack Trail Scenic Byways) overlooks Blue Mountain Lake. Twenty buildings on 32 acres of grounds and gardens house exhibits on logging, boats and boating, mining, outdoor recreation, transportation, and rustic furniture. For more than 50 years, visitors and residents have enjoyed the museum’s one-of-a-kind chronicle of the lives and times of people living and vacationing in the Adirondack region.

One of the oldest and best preserved neighborhoods in the United States, Schenectady’s Stockade Historic District has roots dating back to a 17th century Dutch colonial trading settlement. Take a self- or professionally-guided tour through this beautiful residential area.
